How did this whole thing get started?

Not just the website, but the Hall of Fame itself?

Can someone explain how this site came to be? I was just searching the web and came on it...

I had done the documentary on the game and at the end of it we suggested a HOF be formed. The Hall of Fame was then organized by a group of people most who had retired from the sport. They all played with a lot of passion and I felt that if we did not get this crop of people to organize and honor the sport and recognize the players, the next generation would not. So we had to do something and we did. My 1st partner on this was Tony Reibel, who everyone knew... When I moved to AZ, Gary Thorsen picked up the presidents' role and has done a great job and kept it going and expanding...with the board of directors and committe members

Until we have a physical site this website is the virtual story on the inductees and history of the game...it's vital to telling our story and marketing the game.

I am trying to find some information on some old 16" softball leagues from the 1960's specifically the West Suburban Amateur Softball Association. Do you have any thoughts on where would be a good place to start?
Thanks!

I just heard about the new "Hall of Fame" building going up in Forest Park, Il. My Dad was a large force in softball and played with the Rock-Ola's in the late 30's early 40's. He was the "All City Champ in 1942" with the Park District. I have rosters, names and pictures of these events. I would love for his name to be included and would like to have more information if someone could please contact me. My email address is: a.berkshire@comcast.net. Thank you very much. Ave

First, we have a few categories, but let's assume players. Either played quite a few years (5-10) and retired for 3 years or over 50. The player must have been on successful teams and or been one the best players on it with an impact on it's results. Fill out the nomination form and it's reviewed by a committee from that era...they compare to thers and select 10 people to be nominated. That list rveiwed and approved by the board. Then it's put on a ballot and voted on by the public.
