The great game of softball started in Chicago at the Farragut Boat Club...in 1887 on a Thanksgiving Day while bored alumni of Harvard and Yale waited the ticker tape scores of their football game...wrapped up a boxing glove and starting hitting with a broom stick. In celebration of that event, the Hall of Fame Board led by Ron Kubicki are working hard to attract the funding to start the build of the museum in Forest Park.
You can help by buying a brick, become a dinner sponsor or run an ad at the dinner on April 14th. There are thousands of past and current players...just think 1000 bricks will pay for the museum...please consider helping so we can describe our great sport's history and recognize the hall of fame players. Thanks
Al Maag

Thanks to Rich Melman, 40 players including past HOF inductees and local celebrities from the North and South collided in a great battle...won by the North. Alot of laughs and memories shared. 1st balls were thrown out by Ed Zolna, Bob Ancona, Al Maag and Larry Piekarz.

Want to know who is winning, who is in first? The HOF site is not designed for the current info...but our two HOF friends/supporters...Illinois Softball Report and Chicagoball.com are designed for that info. Their links are at the top of the links section on this site.

Ray Topps and Ron Kubicki who heading our building efforts for the inductee park would like to speak to any craftsman about helping on this great project. Per our instructions by the city/park any support must be done by union people.

Congrats go out to Flashback winning their first Major ASA title and beating Stover of Iowa in the if needed game in Crystal Lake. This was Stover's second 2nd place finsih in a row. Past repeat champions 45's were upset by Flashback in the 1st game and like great champions fought back in the losers bracket into 4th place.
Also congrats to A Champion Kings from the Northern suburbs over the Crush in the if game too. The Crush came in 4th in the recent state finals under HOF pitcher, Mickey Blestri have come in 2nd place, 7 times.
